Ortrugo dei Colli Piacentini

Under the name Ortrugo dei Colli Piacentini or Ortrugo - Colli Piacentini , Italian sparkling and sparkling wines as well as still wines are marketed that were produced in the province of Piacenza ( Emilia-Romagna region ). The wine-growing area has had a "controlled designation of origin " ( Denominazione di origine controllata - DOC) since 2010 , which was last updated on March 7, 2014.

Growing area

Cultivation and vinification are only allowed in the municipalities of Alta Val Tidone , Pianello Val Tidone , Piozzano and Ziano Piacentino and in parts of the municipalities of Agazzano , Alseno , Bettola , Bobbio , Borgonovo Val Tidone , Carpaneto Piacentino , Castell'Arquato , Castel San Giovanni , Coli , Gazzola , Gropparello , Lugagnano Val d'Arda , Ponte dell'Olio , Rivergaro , San Giorgio Piacentino , Travo , Vernasca and Vigolzone - all in the province of Piacenza .

In 2017, 28,776 hectoliters of DOC wine were produced.

The following types of wine are offered: Both the still wine and the sparkling wines ( Frizzante ) and sparkling wines ( Spumante ) must be made from at least 90% of the Ortrugo grape variety. A maximum of 10% other analogue grape varieties that are approved for cultivation in the Emilia-Romagna region may be added.
