Under the name Lambrusco di Castelvetro Grasparossa are pearl and sparkling wines produced. The growing area for this is in the province of Modena in Emilia-Romagna and has had a "controlled designation of origin " ( Denominazione di origine controllata - DOC) since 1970 , which was last updated on March 7, 2014.

Growing area

Cultivation and vinification of the products is only permitted in the municipalities of Castelfranco Emilia , Castelnuovo Rangone , Castelvetro , Fiorano , Formigine , Maranello , Marano sul Panaro , Prignano sul Secchia , Savignano sul Panaro , Spilamberto , Sassuolo , Vignola and San Cesario sul Panaro and in parts the municipality of Modena - all in the province of Modena .

In 2017, 80,237 hectoliters of DOC wine were produced.

Only semi-sparkling and sparkling wines ( Spumante ) are produced, each in the versions Lambrusco Grasparossa di Castelvetro Rosso and Lambrusco Grasparossa di Castelvetro Rosato . The products are cuvées made from at least 85% of the Lambrusco Grasparossa grape variety . A maximum of 15% other Lambruschi and / or Malbo Gentile may be added - individually or together.
