Bosco Eliceo
Bosco Eliceo is an Italian wine-growing region south of the Po Delta in Emilia-Romagna . The area has had a "controlled designation of origin " ( Denominazione di origine controllata - DOC) since 1989 , which was last updated on March 7, 2014. The name derives from the Bosco Eliceo oaks from -Wäldern that near the vineyards of Mesola stand, the first production area allegedly from the Côte d'Or (Gold Coast) in Burgundy imported grape Fortana in northern Italy .

The following types of wine with the addition of the grape variety are offered under the name Bosco Eliceo :
- Bosco Eliceo Fortana: The Fortana grape must be at least 85%. A maximum of 15% other red grape varieties approved for cultivation in the Emilia-Romagna region may be added.
- Bosco Eliceo Merlot: The Merlot grape must be at least 85%. A maximum of 15% other red grape varieties approved for cultivation in the Emilia-Romagna region may be added.
- Bosco Eliceo Sauvignon (also called Frizzante ): The Sauvignon Blanc grape must contain at least 85%. A maximum of 15% Trebbiano Romagnolo may be added.
- Bosco Eliceo Bianco (also called Frizzante): Must consist of at least 70% Trebbiano Romagnolo and at least 30% Sauvignon Blanc and / or Malvasia Bianca di Candia . A maximum of 5% other white grape varieties approved for cultivation in the Emilia-Romagna region may be added.
Growing area
The area lies in the sandy soils of former dunes in a coastal strip of the Adriatic with the municipalities of Mesola , Goro , Codigoro , Lagosanto , Comacchio and Argenta in the province of Ferrara and parts of the municipalities of Ravenna and Cervia in the province of Ravenna . The wines benefit in particular from the salty air that blows over in breezes from the nearby sea.

Fortana (also known locally as Uva d'Oro ) has been grown in the province of Ferrara since the 17th century. The wine is offered in the flavors dry , frizzante (slightly sparkling), lovely or sweet .
