Colli Piacentini (Eng. Hills of Piacenza) is an Italian wine-growing region in the province of Piacenza , Emilia-Romagna region , which has had a "controlled designation of origin " ( Denominazione di origine controllata - DOC) since 1967 , which was last updated on March 7, 2014 .

Growing area

The Colli Piacentini are a large wine-growing region. In 2017, 72,834 hectoliters of DOC wine were produced.

Cultivation and vinification are permitted in the municipalities of Vernasca , Alseno , Lugagnano Val d'Arda , Castell'Arquato , Gropparello and Carpaneto Piacentino - all in the province of Piacenza .

Blending wines:

  • Colli Piacentini Monterosso Val d'Arda: (also as sparkling wine and frizzante ) must consist of at least 20–50% of the grape variety Malvasia di Candia Aromatica and / or Moscato Bianco and 20–50% Trebbiano Romagnolo and / or Ortrugo .   • Colli Piacentini Trebbianino Val Trebbia (also called Frizzante and Spumante): must consist of 35–65% Ortrugo and 10–20% Malvasia di Candia aromatica and / or Moscato bianco and 15–30% Trebbiano Romagnolo and / or Sauvignon Blanc. A maximum of 15% other white grape varieties approved for cultivation in the Emilia-Romagna region may be added.
  • Colli Piacentini Trebbianino Valnure: must be made from 20–50% Malvasia di Candia aromatica, 20–65% Trebbiano Romagnolo and / or Ortrugo. A maximum of 15% other white grape varieties approved for cultivation in the Emilia-Romagna region may be added.
  • Colli Piacentini Vin Santo: is made from 80% Malvasia di Candia aromatica and / or Ortrugo and / or Sauvignon Blanc and / or Marsanne and / or Trebbiano Romagnolo. A maximum of 20% of other white grape varieties approved for cultivation in the Emilia-Romagna region may be added.
