Colombia is a former Colombian cycling team based in Adro , province of Brescia ( Italy ), which was founded in 2012 under the name Colombia-Coldeportes as the UCI Professional Continental Team and took part in international road cycling races of the UCI WorldTour and the UCI until the end of the 2015 season Continental Circuits participated.

organization

The project was run by the Instituto Colombiano del Deportes (sp., German: Colombian Institute for Sport), which in 2009 co-named the Colombia es Pasión-Café de Colombia team . However, the two teams had no organizational connection. The goal is the development of Colombian cycling.

Team manager was the Italian Claudio Corti , former manager of the Polti , Saeco , Lampre and Barloworld teams . The sport director was the former cyclist Oliverio Rincón .

The project also included a UCI Continental team, which was founded in 2012 under the name Colombia-Comcel , based in Colombia and led by Oliverio Cárdenas and Hernán Buenahora , as well as a Paralympic cycling team.

After financial problems, the team was dissolved at the end of the 2015 season. Already in previous years it became known that the management was in arrears with payments to the drivers.
