The Comunità della Valle di Sole ( Italian for Community of the Sulzberg ) is a valley community of the Autonomous Province of Trento . The municipal association has its administrative headquarters in Malè .

The valley community in the north-west of Trentino includes the municipalities of Val di Sole as well as those of the two northern side valleys Peio and Rabbi . It borders in the west and northwest on the Lombard provinces of Brescia and Sondrio and in the north on the South Tyrolean district community of Vinschgau . In the east, the border with the Non Valley runs in the northeast along the ridge of the Rabbi Valley that borders the east and along the Brenta Group in the southeast . In the south, the border to the Giudicarie valley community runs across Val Meledrio and thePresanella group . The Monte Cevedale with 3769  m slm is the highest elevation of the valley community, the lowest is west of the Mostizzolo gorge with 540  m slm at the northeast end of the valley. The valley community Valle di Sole has a total area of ​​611.57 km².

Protected areas

In the Sulzberg Valley Community there are 13 Natura 2000 protected areas and 16 communal biotopes . Furthermore, parts of the Stelvio National Park and the Adamello-Brenta Nature Park are located in the area of ​​the valley community.
