The Comunità Alto Garda e Ledro ( Italian for community of the Upper Garda and Ledro ) is a valley community of the Autonomous Province of Trento . The association of municipalities has its administrative headquarters in Riva del Garda .
location
The valley community in the south of Trentino includes the communities on the northern shores of Lake Garda and the Ledro Valley . It lies between the valley of the same name in the west through which the Chiese flows and the Adige valley in the east. In the north, the Passo Balino with the Outer Judiciaries and the Lago di Cavedine with the Valle di Cavedine form the borders. In the southwest it borders the the Lombardy belonging province of Brescia and in the southeast of the province of Verona in Veneto .
The area lies at the transition from the sub-Mediterranean to the continental zone of the Alps, which is reflected in the climate, flora and fauna . The lowest point of the valley community is in Torbole with 68 m slm , the highest is the Monte Cadria with 2254 m slm. The valley community has a total area of 353.33 km².

Protected areas
In the valley community Alto Garda and Ledro there are ten Natura 2000 protected areas and four other communal biotopes that are managed by the valley community. Furthermore, the Parco naturale locale del Monte Baldo and the Parco Fluviale della Sarca are partly in the area of responsibility of the valley community . Also in 2015 assigned UNESCO - Biosphere Reserve Alpi Ledrensi e Judicaria falls in parts of the territory of the valley community.
