Connor James (born August 25, 1982 in Calgary , Alberta ) is a Canadian ice hockey player who was last under contract with the Straubing Tigers in the German Ice Hockey League .
Career
Connor James began his career as a hockey player in his hometown with the Calgary Royals, for which he was active in the Alberta Junior Hockey League in the 1999/2000 season . He then played for the University of Denver team for four years . During this period he was selected in the NHL Entry Draft 2002 in the ninth round as a total of 279th player by the Los Angeles Kings . The attacker first ran in professional ice hockey in the 2004/05 season for their farm teams , the Bakersfield Condors from the ECHL and the Manchester Monarchs from the American Hockey League , before making his debut for the LA Kings in the National in the following season Hockey League gave, with no point and penalty in his rookie year in two games.
On August 9, 2006 James received a contract as a free agent with the Pittsburgh Penguins , for whose AHL farm team Wilkes-Barre / Scranton Penguins he was mainly used in the following three years and with whom he was in the Calder in the 2007/08 season Cup final was defeated by the Chicago Wolves . In the course of the 2008/09 season he also received the office of team captain in the Penguins' farm team. For the 2009/10 season, the Canadian received a contract with the Augsburger Panthers in the DEL . At the end of the season, James and the Panthers became German runners-up.
Due to a highly endowed contract offer, he left the Augsburg Panthers after just one season and is putting on ice skates for the DEG Metro Stars in the 2010/2011 season . The fast skater was able to establish himself in the second attack formation of the DEG and plays there with his Augsburg teammate Tyler Beechey and Evan Kaufmann . He increased his personal plus / minus balance from +6 to +16.
For the 2012/13 season James moved to the Nürnberg Ice Tigers , where he extended his contract on December 3, 2013 for another two years. After three years James left Nuremberg and switched to league rivals Straubing Tigers .
