Constantina with Castillo

Constantina is a small town in the province of Seville in the Spanish autonomous region of Andalusia . It is located about 87 kilometers northeast of Seville in the foothills of the Sierra Morena . On January 1, 2019, Constantina had 5896 inhabitants.

Agriculturally and culinary, Constantina is known for olive oil production, goat cheese, grain cultivation, mushrooms and aniseed. Mineralogically it is important for the breakdown of lead, copper and iron. The castle (Castillo) built by the Almoravids , the Moorish quarter (el barrio de La Morería ) built after the Reconquista (1247) , the Mudéjar-style Church of the Incarnation (Encarnación), the Hermitage of the Virgin of Robledo and some are historical 18th century mansions interesting.
