Bollullos de la Mitación is a municipality in southern Spain in the province of Seville in the autonomous region of Andalusia .
history
Bollullos is of Arabic origin and means "small tower". La Mitación originally consisted of several settlements such as Torrearcas, Aljuven, Torreblanca, Almanchar, Seismalos, Almonjón, Palmaraya, Almonasterejo, Rianzuela and Cuatrovitas. These settlements existed until the late 15th century.
In 1594 the settlements were part of the Kingdom of Seville and were mentioned in a document under the current municipality name of Bollullos de la Mitación. At that time the community had 156 citizens.

The Autopista A-49 , which starts in Seville and ends on the border with Portugal in Ayamonte , runs in the immediate vicinity of the town . There are four intercity bus routes in Bollullos (M-157, M-158, M-159 and M-169) that connect the municipality with Aljarafe, Seville, Villamanrique de la Condesa and Pilas. The Aeródromo La Juliana airfield is located nine kilometers south of the city in the municipality .
