Lebrija Town Hall

Lebrija is a Spanish city ​​in the province of Seville in the autonomous region of Andalusia . It is the hometown of Elio Antonio de Nebrija , author of the first Spanish grammar.

history

The area around Lebrija has been populated since the Bronze Age. During the Roman Empire, the city of Nebrissa was called Veneris . In 1249 Lebrija was taken over by Fernando III's troops . recaptured from the Moors . In 1924 Lebrija received city rights.
