action
The African American ATF agent Derrick Vann is looking for stolen weapons. His partner is killed during the undercover investigation. Since the arms dealers mistakenly mistakenly believe that sales representative Andy Fiddler was a contact person for the big deal, Vann uses the man to get at the criminals.
Vann and Fiddler meet arms dealer Joey, who demands $ 500,000 for the weapons. They split up after a dispute over the details of the transaction. Vann and Fiddler attend a theater performance in which Vann's daughter appears. They later call Joey and visit him at his house. Vann is exposed as an undercover agent, but claims he is making money on his own in addition to his salary. That convinces Joey.
Vann is suspended for his actions. He meets Joey again. A fight ensues in which Joey and many of his helpers are shot; Vann is injured.
Reviews
Neil Smith wrote on September 6, 2005 for the BBC that the film was neither good nor bad, but "deeply, depressingly average". One has the impression that it is much longer than the actual 83 minutes. While the contrasting characters in films like Nur 48 Hours and Midnight Run - Five Days to Midnight would work wonders, in this one the main actors would not make more of it than "rather repeated everyday tinkering".
The lexicon of international films wrote that the film offered a "not very original, at least solidly developed buddy-cop story with two renowned leading actors".
Awards
Eugene Levy was nominated for the 2006 Golden Raspberry for Worst Supporting Actor.
