The Coral Princess is a 2003 posed into service cruise ship of the American shipping company Princess Cruises . She is the lead ship of the two-unit Coral class. Together with her sister ship, the Island Princess , which was also commissioned in 2003 , she is the shipping company's only Panamax ship.
history
The Coral Princess was built under the hull number C32 at Chantiers de l'Atlantique in Saint-Nazaire and was undocked on February 3, 2002. After she was delivered to Princess Cruises on December 23, 2002, she began cruise service on January 3, 2003.
Incident 2013
On May 2, 2013, a fire broke out in the engine room of the Coral Princess , which however could be extinguished by the sprinkler systems on board. Nobody was injured in the incident.
In 2020 the coronavirus broke out on board the ship. The ship waited on April 2 for permission to dock in Fort Lauderdale, which became the port of destination for several cruise ships that had to abandon their voyages due to the virus.

In the summer months, the Coral Princess operates on the seven-day route from Vancouver to Whittier in Alaska . In the winter months, the ship is stationed in Fort Lauderdale , from where it offers trips to the Caribbean .
