When she was baptized on May 13, 2007, the Emerald Princess had four godparents: the actresses Florence Henderson , Marion Ross , Erin Moran and Susan Olsen .

The Emerald Princess began her maiden voyage on April 11, 2007 and then completed cruises in the Mediterranean . From autumn 2007, the ship was stationed in Fort Lauderdale to be used in the Caribbean . In 2014 the Emerald Princess made trips from Southampton . She is used by Princess Cruises in the summer months in Europe and in the winter months in the United States. The ship has been traveling from Los Angeles for four to five days since November 2018.

During her service the Emerald Princess was involved in several accidents. On July 25, 2010, she suffered a power outage at the start of a cruise in the Eastern Caribbean. On May 17, 2011, the ship collided with a barge in the port of Saint Petersburg , causing it to be slightly damaged.
