Since Rocka & da Waitler (DRDW) is from Munich originating Punk - / rock duo, consisting of the lead singer Florian Pfisterer and the accordionist Florian Pledl. The duo is accompanied by changing drummers .
History and style
Florian Pfisterer, previously the lead singer at Jenson , and Florian Pledl from Kollnburg met at a wedding in 2012. They took up the idea of combining rock music with Bavarian tradition and Bavarian dialect and developed the idea of a joint music project. The band name is made up of the two protagonists. "Da Rocka" (= the rocker ) refers to Florian Pfisterer's musical roots and preferences. "Da Waitler" is derived from the term "Woid" (forest) and describes a native of the Bavarian Forest , the home of Pledl.
The main element is the accordion. The compositions of the band are based on indie-rock-Balkan-punk and the lyrics are packed like home in “ Allgäu - Bavarian ”. In addition, the musicians reinterpret rock & metal classics from AC / DC , Guns n 'Roses , the Clash and Motörhead . The duo ironically describes their own musical style as "Authentic Squeezing Crossover" or "Traditional World Rock".
In 2013, the duo recorded the demo EP Learns us kenna . In the same year the title When the world goes down today - JaJaJaJa so schee among 200 applicants in the context of the tz competition was chosen as the official Oktoberfest hit . The duo was seen live in 2013 at the Tunix Festival, among others . In 2015, the self-produced debut album Machts Musik koan Krieg followed in 2014 , which was distributed via Muffinman Records . The album with 12 tracks was produced by Pfisterer and mostly mixed. The CD was presented in September 2014 in the tavern in the slaughterhouse . As a single (including video), the song Gehma was released steeply .
At the Wacken Open Air in August 2015 the band made four appearances. In 2016 the Munich label soundtopeople signed DRDW.
In 2016 DRDW had numerous appearances, beginning with their own “New Year's Concert” in the Muffatwerk's Ampere Club . The tz chose DRDW as the main act for the Long Night of Music . At Full Metal Mountain , which was held for the first time , the formation appeared as an opener and had three more appearances there. DRDW was also the opener at the Steinbruchtage of the Taubertal Festival and could also be seen at Theatron MusikSommer . In the same year the band performed as a tour companion band for Status Quo and their special guest band Uriah Heep in the Hamburg Barclaycard Arena , in the Arena Leipzig , in the Passauer Dreiländerhalle , in the Berlin Max-Schmeling-Halle , in the Erfurt exhibition center , in the Stadthalle Rostock , in the Cologne Lanxess Arena , in the Jahrhunderthalle in Frankfurt am Main, in the Bamberg Brose Arena , in the Oberhauser König-Pilsener-Arena , in the Hanoverian Swiss Life Hall , in the Stadthalle Magdeburg , in the Stuttgart Porsche-Arena and in the Olympiahalle Munich .
The album DRDW , which was published by Bailer Music Publishing in summer 2016 and produced by Florian Moser and Stefan Gienger, will be released in April 2017 by Soundtopeople and distributed by Sony Music . The single Feia was released in January 2017 and the album DRDW has been available in stores since April 2017 .
