Christopher Daase

Christopher Daase (born January 15, 1962 in Hamburg ) is a German political scientist .

Christopher Daase graduated from the Christianeum in Hamburg in 1981 and studied German, philosophy, art history and political science in Hamburg , Freiburg im Breisgau and Berlin . In 1996 he received his doctorate from the Free University of Berlin with a thesis on unconventional warfare, for which he received the Ernst Reuter Prize in 1997. From 1994 to 2000 he was a research associate at the Otto Suhr Institute for Political Science. From 2004 to 2009, Christopher Daase held the Chair of International Politics at the Geschwister-Scholl-Institute of the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich . Since the summer semester 2009 Daase has been teaching as Professor for International Organization at the University of Frankfurt . He is also Head of Program Area II - International Organizations and International Law at PRIF . Since 2015 he has been the managing editor of the journal for international relations .

His work focuses on the theories and methods of international relations, security policy and international organizations. He is a member of the German Association for Political Science and the German Society for Political Science (DGfP). From 2009 to 2011 Daase was chairman of the DGfP.
