Daisuke Gōri
Daisuke Gōri ( Japanese郷 里 大 輔, Gōri Daisuke , born February 8, 1952 , † January 17, 2010 ) was a Japanese voice actor , narrator and actor from Kōtō, Tokyo .
Live and act
Göri's real name was Yoshio Nagahori (Japanese 長 堀 芳 夫, Nagahori Yoshio ).
He became known for his roles in the Dragon Ball series, the Gundam series , in Ninja Scroll , Kunikuman, Patlabor, Tekken and Soulcalibur. In addition to his work as a film actor, he has worked as a stage actor, voice actor and speaker in video games.
He was mainly represented by the TV Talent Center Tokyo, the Yoshizawa Theater School and by Mausu Promotion, most recently by Aoni Production.
Sickness and death
According to colleagues, Gōri was diagnosed with diabetes mellitus a few years before his death ; in addition, his eyesight was more and more impaired by a retinal detachment . He complained of severe visual impairment and the inability to read the manuscript. During the recording of Anpanman in late 2009, he showed signs of depression.
On January 17, 2010 around 3:00 p.m., Gōri was found lying on his stomach on a street in Nakano , Tokyo. Blood ran from his wrists, so passers-by called the police. She found a craft knife under his body and a suicide note in his pocket, addressed to his family. His death was therefore classified as a suicide . He died three weeks before his 58th birthday. His running roles have been replaced by Ryūzaburō Ōtomo, Unshō Ishizuka, and others.
