Dale Harrop (born April 29, 1989 in Christchurch ) is a New Zealand ice hockey player who has played for the West Auckland Admirals in the New Zealand Ice Hockey League since 2017 .

Career

Dale Harrop began his career with the Canterbury Red Devils . For the club, he played in the New Zealand Ice Hockey League from 2007 when he was voted Rookie of the Year . In 2009, 2012, 2013 and 2014, when he was voted Most Valuable Player of the Finals, he became New Zealand champions with the team. In 2016 he dared the leap into the stronger Australian Ice Hockey League , where he was on the ice for Perth Thunder . But he returned to New Zealand in 2017 and is now playing for the West Auckland Admirals , with whom he won their first championship title in 2018.

International

In the youth field, Harrop played for New Zealand at the U18 World Championships in 2005 , 2006 and 2007 as well as the U20 World Championships in 2007 and 2008 , when he and the Armenian Harutyun Qeshishyan became the second best goal setter of the tournament behind his compatriot Chris Eaden , both in Division III.

With the New Zealand men's selection , Harrop took part in the World Championships in 2008 , 2010 , 2011 , 2012 , 2015 , 2016 , 2017 and 2018 in Division II and, after relegation in 2009, in Division III.
