The best of… God's contribution and the devil's work is a best-of album by the German music project E Nomine . It was released on December 13, 2004 on the Polydor and Maxximum Records labels as standard and limited editions.
content
Most of the songs selected for the compilation come from the three previously released studio albums by E Nomine. Three songs are taken from the 1999 debut album Das Testament . Five tracks are included on the second album Finsternis , which was released in 2002. With six titles most of the songs from the third album comes Prophecy in 2003. The song The tower previously appeared as a B-side on the single black sun . In addition, with God's contribution and the devil's work , Nebelpfade , Der Ring der Nibelungen , Opus Magnum and Father Our Part II (Psalm 23) five previously unpublished pieces are included in the compilation.
The limited edition also includes the previously unreleased title Drachengold , a hit mix from the band's previously released singles, a classical medley and an orchestral version of the song Deine Welt .

The album was produced by E-Nomine members Christian Weller and Fritz Graner and licensee David Brunner . All three also acted as executive producers .
Involved speakers
The lyrics of the songs on the album are spoken by ten well-known German voice actors. These are Christian Brückner (voice of Robert De Niro and Gary Oldman ), Thomas Danneberg (voice of Rutger Hauer , John Travolta and Arnold Schwarzenegger ), Otto Mellies (voice of Christopher Lee ), Eckart Dux (voice of Anthony Perkins and Michael Caine ) , Elmar Wepper (voice of Mel Gibson ), Martin Keßler (voice of Nicolas Cage and Vin Diesel ), Gerrit Schmidt-Foß (voice of Leonardo DiCaprio ), Rolf Schult (voice of Anthony Hopkins ), Helmut Krauss (voice of Samuel L. Jackson ) and Michael Chevalier (voice of Oliver Reed and Omar Sharif ). The actor Ralf Moeller can also be heard on two songs.
Cover design
The album cover shows two dragons behind which a large wooden cross towers. The background consists of predominantly white, cloudy skies. In the upper part of the picture are the dark gray lettering E Nomine and The best of ... God's contribution and the devil's work . The limited edition has the same motif. However, the wooden cross says Limited Edition in white and the dark gray lettering E Nomine and The best of ... God's contribution and the devil's work are in the lower part of the picture.

The best of… God's contribution and the devil's work entered the German album charts at number 30 on December 27, 2004, and in the following weeks it was 55 and 38. Overall, the album stayed in the top 100 for six weeks. Also in Austria , but not in Switzerland, the sound carrier was able to place in the charts.
The song Father Our Part II (Psalm 23) was released as a single in advance . It reached position 53 in the German charts and stayed in the top 100 for nine weeks.
