The Big Request Concert is an Austrian music and love film from 1960 by Arthur Maria Rabenalt . An international cast plays the leading roles, including Carlos Thompson , Linda Christian and Edmund Purdom .
action
The story takes place in high society among friends of classical concert music. The focus of the plot is the famous and celebrated star conductor René von Geldern. The man is widowed and has a young daughter with Susi. Since he is a busy artist, von Geldern hires a young and pretty educator named Inge Salinger, who proves to be a kind hearted person. René's ex-girlfriend Vilma Cortini, on the other hand, poses as an attention-seeking diva and decidedly jealous bitch, who sees Inge as a tough competitor to regain the conductor's favor. Therefore she demands Miss Salinger's release. Von Geldern finally gives in to pressure from Vilma and fires the teacher.
But this again doesn't fit in with Little Susi at all, since she has grown very fond of Inge and wants nothing more than that the young woman becomes her new mother. In order to achieve this goal, the girl runs away without further ado. Von Geldern has his hands full in the period that follows: he has to get rid of the annoying, scheming Vilma Cortini, at the same time prepare for the upcoming concert and, by the way, find his daughter again. In the end everything works out for the best at the titular big request concert, and von Geldern not only conducted an artistic success, but also found a new wife for himself and a new mother for the overjoyed Susi.
