David Alexandre Winter (* 4. April 1943 in Amsterdam as Leon Kleerekoper ) is a Dutch pop singer .
In the 1960s he was a DJ at Radio Veronica and was already singing his first singles at that time. He moved to Paris in 1969 , where he successfully participated in the Festival de la Chanson d'Antibes . He got a record deal with Riviera Records and his first single, Oh Lady Mary , went straight to number one on the French charts . The accompanying album of the same title also landed at number one.
He was selected to represent Luxembourg at the 1970 Eurovision Song Contest in Amsterdam . With the hit Je suis tombé du ciel , however, he ended up in last place with zero points. He remained loyal to the music and released numerous singles and an LP in French.
After a divorce, he moved to the United States in 1979 , where he worked as a car salesman.
