David Boesch
David Bösch (* 1978 in Lübbecke ) is a German theater director .
education
After graduating from high school in the Bethel district of Bielefeld , Bösch looked after a Jewish actor in Israel for a year and gained his first theater experience at the Total Theater in Bochum . He then began studying theater and film directing at the Athanor Academy in Burghausen and from there switched to the Zurich University of Music and Theater , where he studied theater directing from 2001 to 2004. He completed his training with a production of the classic Spring Awakening by Frank Wedekind .

In 2004 Bösch staged, among other things, the play Port by Simon Stephens with Michael von Burg at the Hamburg Thalia Theater , which was later performed as part of the Young Directors Project at the Salzburg Festival and at the Radikal jung - The Festival of Young Directors .
Bösch also staged at the Schauspielhaus Bochum , the Stadttheater Bern and the Schauspielhaus Zürich . From the 2005/06 to 2009/10 season, Bösch was the in-house director at the Schauspiel Essen , where he presented a production of William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream as his first work . In June 2006 he staged Much Ado About Nothing by Shakespeare as a guest director at the Thalia Theater , with which he was invited again to the Salzburg Festival. In February 2010 he staged Antonio Vivaldi's opera Orlando furioso at the Frankfurt Opera . From the 2010/11 season, Bösch was the lead director at the Schauspielhaus Bochum, and in 2013/14 he went to Vienna at the Burgtheater .
In December 2010 Bösch staged Franz Xaver Kroetz ' Stallerhof in the casino of the Burgtheater , and in January 2012 at the Schauspielhaus Bochum Little Man - what now? by Hans Fallada . For the Bavarian State Opera he staged L'elisir d'amore by Gaetano Donizetti in 2009 , Mozart's early work Mitridate, re di Ponto in 2011 , The Cunning Little Vixen by Leoš Janáček in 2012 and most recently in 2014 L'Orfeo by Claudio Monteverdi . 2016 he staged ibid Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg by Richard Wagner .
