David Thornton (born June 12, 1953 in Cheraw , South Carolina ) is an American actor .
life and career
David Thornton was born in Cheraw, South Carolina, the son of Dr. Robert Donald Thornton, a longtime English professor at Harvard University , was born. He attended Hamilton College and the Yale Drama School , as well as the Lee Strasberg 's Actors' Studio.
Thornton has been an actor since 1983 and took his first role in the television film Sessions . Since then he has appeared regularly in television series and has taken on supporting roles in films, including for example in Hot Nights in Java , Man with Honor - You only pay attention to what you fear , Mrs. Parker and her vicious circle , The Movie Maker , A Light in Mine Hearts , All for Love , Too Tired to Die , Icy Silence , Blue Moon , John Q - Desperate Anger , Like a Single Day , Alpha Dog - Deadly Friendships , In My Sister's Life , Dirty Movie or The Harmful Friends .

Private
Thornton has been married to the famous singer Cyndi Lauper since November 1991 . They met on the set of the movie Moon over Miami . In 1997 they became parents to a son named Declyn Wallace Thornton.
