David Thornton (born June 12, 1953 in Cheraw , South Carolina ) is an American actor .

life and career

David Thornton was born in Cheraw, South Carolina, the son of Dr. Robert Donald Thornton, a longtime English professor at Harvard University , was born. He attended Hamilton College and the Yale Drama School , as well as the Lee Strasberg 's Actors' Studio.

Thornton has been an actor since 1983 and took his first role in the television film Sessions . Thornton has been married to the famous singer Cyndi Lauper since November 1991 . They met on the set of the movie Moon over Miami . In 1997 they became parents to a son named Declyn Wallace Thornton.
