The day that changed everything (Original title: Après lui ) is a French drama directed by Gaël Morel and starring Catherine Deneuve from 2007.
action
Franck and Mathieu are best friends and study together in Lyon . One day Mathieu dies in a car accident. His mother Camille is devastated, but still invites Franck to the funeral service, even though he was behind the wheel of the car that crashed. Because she wants Franck to have a good living while studying, she even hires him in her bookstore. Camille's family meanwhile has no understanding of their behavior.
When they drive together, Camille wants Franck to drive faster. Franck finally stops and walks away furiously. When she ambushes him and calls his parents repeatedly, Franck has had enough of her attention. When she invites him to a rock band concert, he accepts anyway. After the concert they spend some time together and talk about Mathieu. Franck bursts into tears and Camille tries to comfort him. At a reading in Camille's bookstore, a young man reads a passage about a car accident. Then the young man, Camille and Franck go to a bar. Afterwards, Camille and Franck drive to the scene of the accident, where, at Camille's request, Franck sets the tree that hit the car on fire with gasoline. After this incident, Camille is forbidden to get too close to Franck.
Mathieu's father François, from whom Camille is divorced, is increasingly concerned about his ex-wife. When their daughter Laure gives birth to a son, Camille only stays briefly in the hospital. Instead, she seeks out some of Franck's fellow students and chases after a young student. After Franck's parents brought Camille back a scooter that Camille gave Franck for his birthday, she tried to give the scooter away to passers-by on a bridge. She eventually travels to Portugal , where Franck is from and where she made an appointment with him. She goes into his room, caresses his cheek tenderly and watches him sleep.

Cinema said that “Camille's obsessive behavior is not fully revealed”, but “touches the game of Deneuve”. The film is ultimately an "[b] impressive one-woman show".
