Founding years

In the next few years a metal works was built at the northeast train station in Nuremberg and a modern extrusion press for the production of bars and tubes was built. In 1930 Karl Diehl , the only son of Margarete and Heinrich Diehl, joined the parents' company. He took over the metal processing company shortly before the start of the Second World War. In 1938 the construction of a new semi-finished product plant in Röthenbach an der Pegnitz began.

During the Second World War, large parts of the plant were destroyed by air raids and almost all of the operating facilities were dismantled. In 1949, based on the presses , ovens and machine tools that were still in existence , work began on rebuilding the plant. The foundry plant was converted from light metal to heavy metal .

In 1951 a 3,500-ton press was built. In 1956 Diehl Metall started manufacturing synchronizer rings .

From 1974 to 1984 the drop forge was expanded, another pipe press was installed, a dedusting system was built for the foundry and expanded to include the continuously operating "Demag continuous caster". In 1977 the so-called Schumaghalle was built. In 1981 a new strip rolling mill was inaugurated in the Sundwiger brass works.
