Diether Stolze

Diether Stolze (born February 5, 1929 in Starnberg ; † October 24, 1990 in Bellinzona , Switzerland ) was a German journalist , publicist and media manager . Proud was u. a. Publisher and co-editor of the weekly newspaper Die Zeit .

Life

Stolze was born the son of a journalist. After leaving school, he began studying physics and trained as a journalist. He worked for the evening newspaper from Munich and wrote articles for Deutsche Illustrierte .

In 1963 he went to the weekly newspaper Die Zeit , where he became head of the business department. In addition, he was deputy editor-in-chief. At Norddeutscher Rundfunk (NDR) he moderated the business magazine Plusminus . In 1977 he became a publisher and from 1979 co-editor (together with Marion Countess Dönhoff and Theo Sommer ) of the paper. He was politically close to the CDU .

From 1982 to 1983 he was government spokesman and head of the press and information office of the federal government . From 1984 he was a media advisor to the Lower Saxony state government under Ernst Albrecht (CDU). In addition, he was a member of the advisory board for new media issues and from 1983 economic policy advisor to Helmut Kohl (CDU).

In 1986 he became the managing partner of AV Euromedia GmbH ( Georg von Holtzbrinck publishing group ). He was a member of the supervisory board of SAT 1 SatellitFernsehen GmbH, Saarbrücker Zeitung and Otto-Maier-Verlag .

He was the author of numerous books. For a while he appeared under the pseudonym Mercator .

Proud was married. He died in a car accident in the canton of Ticino in 1990 .
