The district of San Antonio is located in the province of Grau in the Apurímac region in the central south of Peru . The district was established on March 17, 1958. It extends over an area of 25.4 km². The 2017 census counted 288 residents. In 1993 the population was 412, in 2007 it was 361. The district administration is located in the 3451 m high village of San Antonio with 246 inhabitants (as of 2017). San Antonio is 11.5 km southeast of the provincial capital Chuquibambilla .
Geographical location
The district of San Antonio is located in the Andean highlands on the right bank of the north-flowing Río Vilcabamba, central in the province of Grau.
The district of San Antonio borders in the west on the districts Turpay and Pataypampa , in the north on the district Micaela Bastidas and in the southeast and in the south on the district Mamara .
