The men's high jump at the 1999 World Athletics Championships was held on August 21 and 23, 1999 in the Olympic Stadium in the Spanish city of Seville .
World champion became the Russian Vyacheslav Voronin . Silver went to the Canadian Mark Boswell . Third place went to the German Martin Buss .

qualification
August 21, 1999, 7:10 p.m.
31 participants competed in two groups for the qualifying round. The qualification height for the direct entry into the final was 2.29 m. Eleven athletes exceeded this mark (highlighted in light blue). The final field consisting of at least twelve athletes was filled with the next placed jumpers. In twelfth place, two participants were tied, who had jumped 2.26 m without any unsuccessful attempt and thus reached the final, which now consists of thirteen athletes (highlighted in light green).
