The Don is a river in France that runs predominantly in the Loire-Atlantique department in the Pays de la Loire region . It rises in the municipality of Saint-Michel-et-Chanveaux , in the neighboring department of Maine-et-Loire . Its source stream changes its name several times and is only referred to as Don below the small reservoir Étang de la Selle . It generally drains in a westerly direction and flows into the Vilaine as a left tributary after 92 kilometers at the municipal boundary of Massérac and Avessac . Here, on the opposite bank, it meets the bordering Ille-et-Vilaine department in the Brittany region .
