The Evangelical Lutheran village church is located in the municipality of Altengönna , a district of the municipality of Lehesten near Jena in the Saale-Holzland district of Thuringia . It is a listed building .

history

The small village church of Altengönna was built in 1690 instead of a previous medieval building. The place mentioned for the first time in 1192 belonged from 1507 to 1809 to the commander of the Teutonic Order in neighboring Lehesten. The parish Altengönna together with the parishes Nerkewitz and rooms the parish association Vierzehnheiligen in the parish of Jena the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .

Building description

The hall church is an unadorned plastered building , the gable roof is covered with tiles , from which a roof tower rises in the east . The old roof tower was demolished in 1988 because it was in disrepair and restored in 1990-94 as part of repairs . It is covered with a curved hood covered with slate . Furnishing

The choir houses a late Gothic three-part winged altar with shrine and predella, which was created around 1510 and restored between 1991 and 1995 . When open, it shows a portrait of Mary next to Simon Petrus and Paulus as well as Nikolaus and Martinus . Among them, Anna herself appears between Barbara and Katharina . The exterior of the wing is painted with the scene of the Annunciation. The massive, octagonal baptismal font is of medieval origin. The pulpit is baroque. For a commander of Lehesten is a Epitaph of Alabaster in the church.

The organ with 12 registers , divided into 2 manuals and pedal , was built around 1800.
