Louis Douglas "Doug" Serrurier (born December 9, 1920 in Germiston , Gauteng ; † June 3, 2006 in Alberton , Gauteng) was a South African racing driver . In 1962 and 1963 he took part in the World Automobile Championship.
Life
Doug Serrurier was registered for a total of three races in the automobile world championship from 1962 to 1965 and was able to qualify for two starts. He drove an LDS vehicle for his own South African racing team, Otelle Nucci (LDS are the initials of his full name). He contested his first race at the age of 42 at the 1962 South African Grand Prix for his team Otelle Nucci , his second and last start there in 1963 . In 1965 he was registered again for the South African Grand Prix , but could not qualify for the race (his team Otelle Nucci LDS Climax now had Climax engines).
In 1966 he finished second in the 3-hour race in Cape Town in a Lola T70 , and the following year he won Sir Roy Hesketh's 3-hour race in a Lola T70. In 1969 Serrurier withdrew from active racing.
