The Reissbach (Czech Dračice ) is a right tributary of the Lainsitz in the Czech Republic and Austria .

course

The Dračice has its source in the Česká Canada Nature Park in the Javořická vrchovina northeast of Kaproun at an altitude of 668  m nm.Its source is located on the plateau south of the Vysoký kámen ( Markstein , 738 m) or southwest of the Velký Kopec ( Plachaberg , 692 m) in the Kaproun nature reserve. The brook is dammed in several small ponds and flows south near the former border between Bohemia and Moravia. West of Rožnov it is dammed in the Klenovský rybník ( Pocherteich ). On its further course to the southwest, the brook feeds the Horní Žišpašský rybník and Dolní Žišpašský rybník ( Sichelbacher Ponds ). Below Blato is the valley of the Dračice from a bunker line of Czechoslovak Walls traversed, after which the stream flows into the pond Osika ( Aspateich ). From the Hůrky station , the Jindřichův Hradec – Nová Bystřice narrow-gauge railway follows its valley. Via Terezín, Albeř and Nová Bystřice , where it is dammed in the Novobystřičský rybník ( Bistritz pond ) and Mníšský rybník ( Münichschläger pond ), the stream reaches the Austrian border near the extinct village of Mnich .

In the following section, which leads over Griesbach, the Alttürnauhäuser and Türnau to the castle Hörmanns, it bears the name Kastenitzer Bach - he is not to be confused with the Czech Republic than in Potok Koštěnický designated Neumühlbach , which rises in the immediate vicinity.

At the Wild Hunt in Hörmanns near Litschau , the Reissbach, which rises six kilometers to the north in the Blanko pond near the Blankohhäuser and flows into the Haugschlag, flows into. From this point on, the Kastenitzer Bach is referred to as the Reißbach . The stream is then dammed in Litschau in the Herrensee and Schönauer Teich . From Litschau to Gopprechts, the narrow-gauge railway line Litschau – Groß Gerungs follows the valley of the Reißbach. The stream flows south via Schönau bei Litschau, Reichenbach, Gopprechts and Schönauhäuser, then changes its direction in a meandering course westwards. Past Galthof , it flows back to Czech territory at the former clay brick mill and the extinct village of Nová Ves u Klikova. Along the Dračice in the Czech Republic are the places Velký Londyn, Františkov, Stařice, Paříž and Klikov. North of Suchdol nad Lužnicí , the Dračice flows into the Lainsitz after 46 kilometers, about half of which are in Austria and the Czech Republic, at 443  m nm . Its catchment area is 152 km².

The Reissbach used to form the border between Lower Austria and Bohemia on the section between Kößlersdorf / Nová Ves and its mouth . Since the assignment of Lower Austrian territory to Czechoslovakia through the Treaty of Saint-Germain in 1920 , the Austrian-Czech border has been moved south to the Lainsitz.
