Duane Da Rocha Marcé (born January 7, 1988 in Brasília ) is a Spanish swimmer of Brazilian origin. In addition to her parade route 200 m back , she competes over 100 m back individually as well as in layers .
Career
Duane Da Rocha is the daughter of Brazilian parents and was born in Brasília. She moved to Spain with her family at the age of one and grew up in Mijas in the province of Malaga .
At the 2009 Mediterranean Games in Pescara , Italy , she won her first international medals with three silver medals. In 2010 she was European short course champion over 200 m back in Eindhoven . She took part in the 2012 Olympic Games in London , but did not reach the final run. In December 2012 she won the bronze medal at the short course world championships in Istanbul over 200 m back. In 2013, as a result of the economic crisis, financial resources at their club Real Canoe NC were cut and Da Rocha had to leave the club. She then moved back to her hometown club CN Mijas.
Duane Da Rocha celebrated her greatest success so far at the 2014 European Championships in Berlin , where she won the 200 m back title. With her winning time she broke the oldest Spanish record at the time, which Nina Schiwanewskaja had held since 2000. A year later at the World Championships in Kazan , Da Rocha did not get over 100 m back beyond the heat and was eliminated over 200 m back in the semi-finals. Since 2015 she has been working for the UCAM CN Fuensanta association from Murcia .
