Nina Aleksándrovna Zhivanevskaya ( Russian: Нина Александровна Живаневская Nina Alexandrowna Schiwanewskaja ; born June 24, 1977 in Kuibyshev ) is a former Russian and now Spanish swimmer .

Life

Her first major international success came at the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona when she won the bronze medal in the 4 × 100 m individual relay of the CIS . After the 1996 Olympic Games , she was banned for two years for doping with bromantane , before returning to competitive sport in 1999 and starting for Spain , her husband's home country. At the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney , she won the bronze medal over 100 m back . In the same year she was also able to win the titles over 50 m, 100 m and 200 m back at the European Championships.

In 2008 she was third overall at the Mare Nostrum meetings.
