The Ducati Diavel is a motorcycle model from the Italian manufacturer Ducati , which was presented at EICMA in 2010 . It combines stylistic elements of a cruiser , a drag bike and a sports motorcycle .

technology

The Diavel is powered by a liquid-cooled two-cylinder V-engine (Ducati designation due to the installation position: L-engine) with 1198 cm³, toothed belt-driven desmodromic valve control (four valves) and an output of 162 hp. The Testastretta 11 ° Dual Spark (DS) used for this comes from the company's super athletes, but the valve overlap angle has been reduced to 11 ° (compared to 41 ° for the superbike engines). In contrast to other cruisers, the Diavel is relatively light (239 kg ready to drive) and has a curve-going chassis.

Models

In 2013 Ducati offered the Diavel Strada , a model version with a windshield, panniers and a " sissy bar ".

The Diavel Carbon differs from the standard version through numerous components made of carbon fiber reinforced plastic , forged Marchesini wheels, a modified exhaust system and a lower weight (205 kg dry).

At the Milan Men's Fashion Week, Ducati presented the Diavel Diesel , designed in cooperation with the fashion label Diesel . Sales of the special series, limited to 666 pieces, will start in April 2017.

Reviews

“The Diavel is difficult to classify into well-known motorcycle types. It can be moved much more dynamically than all known muscle bikes or dragsters, is much more potent than all cruisers and has a unique selling point thanks to its daring design. Ducati's attempt to come up with something completely new was successful. And it's a lot of fun. "

- Rolf Henniges : Motorbike

“If you want, you can accelerate the motorcycle to up to 255 km / h. Strong neck muscles required, because even the optionally available miniature windshield hardly keeps the wind out. You can really enjoy the ride between 120 and 150 items. The pressure on the helmet is limited, and the devil rider can turn the machine elegantly and easily. The chassis gives a good feeling for the road, an eight-stage traction control and the snappy and finely dosed Brembo brake system with ABS ensure a high level of safety. "

- Roman Büttner : Spiegel Online

“How well the colossal block actually drives, how finely it can be directed from one incline to the other, through wide and narrow curves and even through disgusting switchbacks, seems like a miracle every time. Over time, you get used to the fact that he is more agile than what you might expect. But the amazement never subsides. "
