The Ducati 750 SS i. e. is a sports motorcycle from the Italian manufacturer Ducati .

It was built between 1998 and 2002 and, together with the larger 900 SS i. e. the replacement of the SS carburetor models, which however never established themselves like the previous legendary model versions. This was largely due to the new design by Pierre Terblanché and the company policy prevailing at Ducati at the time. As a result of cost-saving measures, most of the production machines and tools should remain unchanged, which resulted in unchanged components (e.g. tank bottom plate) and thus compromises in design. In addition, at this time competitors were already offering machines with significantly higher performance with the same cubic capacity in the same price segment, which is an important purchase criterion for the sports driver clientele.

The model also appeared in a cheaper version Ducati 750 Sport , which technically differs from the more expensive model in one instead of two front brake discs and was only available in matt black.

The most important feature of the machine is the air / oil-cooled 90 ° V2 engine with two valves per cylinder. In contrast to its "big sister", the 900 ss i. e., a swing arm made of steel instead of aluminum and no adjustable fork , which makes it look a little unwieldy and too hard. It also lacks sixth gear and the Ducati-typical dry clutch .
