Ducati Pantah

Pantah 600 SL

The Ducati Pantah was a motorcycle model from the Italian manufacturer Ducati .

It was presented in 1977 and was the first Ducati model in which the camshafts were driven by toothed belts . After that, up to the presentation of the Ducati Panigale in 2011, all engines newly designed by Ducati were designed with toothed belts to drive the camshafts. Besides Ducati - apart from Honda in the Gold Wing models up to 1500 cm³, the pure engine manufacturer Rotax and Moto Morini with the V2 models - no other manufacturer of motorcycle engines uses toothed belts for camshaft drives in series production.

Another new feature of the Pantah was the mounting of the rear swing arm in the engine housing. It was only with the Ducati 916 from 1994 that the swing arm mounting was reinforced again with additional mountings on the frame.
