The Exor NV is a leading Dutch investment company owned by the Italian entrepreneurial family Agnelli . Society invests in the long term. Major holdings include Fiat Chrysler Automobiles , CNH Industrial and Ferrari .

history

In 1957 IFI took control of the Istituto Commerciale Laniero Italiano trading company, which was primarily active in the textile and wool business . In 1963, the institute expanded its business into the banking sector and was renamed Istituto Bancario Italiano Laniero . Three years later, the banking business had meanwhile been outsourced to Banca Subalpina, the company, now renamed Istituto Finanziario Italiano Laniero (IFIL) , played the same role as IFI and was involved in investment management in a similar way.

IFI acquired over the decades investments in various companies, including Unicem and 3M , has now, however, many separated again . IFI listed preferred shares on the Borsa Italiana in 1968 . As part of a restructuring of the Agnelli family's holdings in 2008, IFI and IFIL merged to form Exor. The new name goes back to the French company (then majority owner of Perrier and the Château Margaux winery ), which it took over in 1991. The family company Giovanni Agnelli BV holds 52.99% of the share capital. In 2015, Exor was ranked 19th in the Fortune Global 500 list of the world's top-selling companies.
