Eda Tuğsuz (born March 27, 1997 in Antalya ) is a Turkish javelin thrower .

Athletic career

Eda Tuğsuz made his first international appearance at the World Youth Championships in Donetsk 2013, where she finished fifth with 51.56 meters. In 2014 she took part in the Junior World Championships in Eugene , where she was eliminated in qualifying for 48.19 m. She also took part in the Summer Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing , where she finished third in the B final with 48.48 m. In 2015 she finished eighth at the U20 European Championships in Eskilstuna, Sweden, with 51.82 m. In 2016 she qualified for the European Championships in Amsterdam , where she finished eleventh with 56.97 m. At the U20 World Championships in Bydgoszcz , she won the bronze medal with a width of 56.71 m. In 2017 she won the silver medal in the U23 classification of the European Winter Throwing Cup. At the Islamic Solidarity Games in Baku she won with a width of 67.21 meters, setting a new national record and a U23 European record. This was later improved by the Croatian Sara Kolak . At the U23 European Championships in Bydgoszcz, she finished fourth with 62.37 m. So she qualified for the World Championships in London , where she finished fifth with 64.52 m in the final . A few weeks later she finished fourth at the World Student Games in Taipei with 60.75 m.

In 2018 she won the U23 Mediterranean Championships in Jesolo with 57.23 m and was eliminated from the qualification at the European Championships in Berlin with 57.77 m. The following year she reached fourth place at the European Games in Minsk with 62.49 m and then won the bronze medal at the Summer Universiade in Naples with 59.75 m behind the Lithuanian Liveta Jasiūnaitė and Haruka Kitaguchi from Japan. The following week she had to admit defeat only the German Annika-Marie Fuchs at the U23 European Championships in Gävle with 61.03 m . She also took part in the World Championships in Doha , but retired there with 58.28 m in qualification .

In 2015 Tuğsuz became the Turkish javelin champion.
