Eduard Dransfeld

Eduard Dransfeld (born November 6, 1883 in Bestwig , † January 22, 1964 in Groß-Rohrheim ) was a German officer , most recently General of the Air Force Aviators in World War II .

Promotions

Prewar years

Dransfeld occurred on 15 March 1905 as a cadet in the 2nd Nassau Infantry Regiment. 88 in Mainz , and attended by 11 July 1906 to 17 August 1907, the Military Academy Glogau . First World War

Dransfeld was able to work again on September 26, 1914 and was assigned to Feldflieger -teilung 29 as an observer, in which he remained until February 3, 1915. Subsequently, he served as an observer in the carrier pigeon department O and then from June 1915 to the end of March 1916 with the field pilot department 66, where he was promoted to captain on June 18, 1915. Most recently he led this department for a short time. From April to the beginning of July 1916 Dransfeld acted as leader of Kampfstaffel 5 of Kampfgeschwader 1. Interwar years

After the end of the war, Dransfeld was from December 11, 1918 to May 21, 1919 inspecting the aircraft maintenance facility. Then he served until August 20, 1919 as leader of the disbanding command of the air base in Braunschweig . On August 21, 1919, he was transferred to inspect the Reichswehr motor vehicle troops. From October 1919 to the end of 1920 he served in the staff of the motor vehicle department 9 and as a company commander in the motor vehicle department 7. At the beginning of 1921 Dransfeld was company commander in the 6th (Prussian) motor vehicle department in Münster , where he ended Served July 1934. This time was interrupted from October to December 1926, when Dransfeld was temporarily assigned to the motor vehicle training command of the 3rd (Prussian) motor vehicle department. Second World War

Dransfeld remained in this position beyond the beginning of the Second World War until the end of September 1941. From October 1, 1941 to the end of May 1943, he had the status of general “available”. On May 31, 1943 Dransfeld resigned from military service; it was not reactivated until the end of the war. On June 11, 1945 Dransfeld was used by the Allies in captivity taken, from which he was released on February 27 1947th
