Eduard Heinrich August von Hobe (born September 3, 1802 in Neustadt an der Aisch , † July 24, 1874 in Baden-Baden ) was a Prussian lieutenant general .

Life

origin

He was the son of the later Prussian Lieutenant General Karl von Hobe (1765-1822) and his wife Sophie Therese, née von Rothschütz (1768-1822).

Military career

Hobe visited the cadet house in Berlin during the Wars of Liberation and was transferred to the 12th Hussar Regiment (2nd Magdeburg) of the Prussian Army on October 19, 1818 as a second lieutenant with a patent from November 16, 1818 . In 1821/24 he served as a regimental adjutant, rose to prime lieutenant in June 1831 and became captain and squadron chief in mid-December 1842 . As such, Hobe took part in the battle at Kuppenheim and the siege of Rastatt in 1849 in the course of the suppression of the revolutionary unrest in the Palatinate and Baden . On September 25, 1849 he became major and adjutant of the 15th Division in Cologne . From May 17, 1850, he was employed as an adjutant at the General Command of the VIII Army Corps in Koblenz . On May 4, 1854 Hobe was appointed commander of the 9th Hussars appointed and in that capacity on July 13, 1854 Lieutenant Colonel and on May 22, 1858 Colonel promoted. On November 22, 1859, Hobe was appointed commander of the 13th Cavalry Brigade in Munster, with the position of his regiment à la suite . In recognition of his achievements in the command of the troops, King Wilhelm I awarded Hobe the Order of the Red Eagle, 2nd Class with Oak Leaves, on September 20, 1861, and in the following month he was promoted to major general.

For the duration of the mobile relationship , Hobe was commissioned to lead the mobile cavalry division on the occasion of the war against Denmark in 1864 . On 9 January 1865, he has been relieved of his command as a brigade commander and subsequently awarded the character as a Lieutenant General with the statutory board for disposition made.

Hobe married Klara Uebel (1807-1830) on February 18, 1827 in Helfta . After her untimely death, he married Countess Maria Henckel von Donnersmarck (1810–1886) in Volkstedt on October 4, 1833 .
