A Summer in Florida (original title Follow That Dream ) is an American film from 1962 by Gordon Douglas . It was the ninth feature film in which Elvis Presley played a leading role. The film is based on Richard Powell's novel Pioneer, Go Home .

The Kwimper family is on a vacation trip by car when the gasoline runs out. Father Kwimper decides to simply set up an illegal camp at this point and so the whole family gets into problems with the authorities, while son Toby vigorously defends his bachelor existence and resolutely fends off Holly's advances with a song: I'm Not The Marrying Kind ( English for I was not made for marriage ).
