A wedding for three (Original title: Imagine Me & You ) is an American - British - German comedy film by Ol Parker from 2005 .

action

The film begins on the wedding day of Rachel and her childhood sweetheart Heck. Rachel and the florist Luce meet on the way to their wedding day. They later meet at the party when Luce saves Rachel's ring from the punch bowl. Rachel immediately likes her and wants to couple her with Heck's testosterone-controlled friend Cooper. However, this plan goes awry when Luce comes out as a lesbian.

While Heck is busy with his unsatisfactory office job, Rachel befriends Luce. They go to a soccer game together and then play Dance Dance Revolution to Feels Like I'm In Love by Kelly Marie . Rachel then accompanies Luce home and there is a near kiss.

For the next few days Rachel tries to suppress her burgeoning feelings for Luce out of loyalty to Heck. Luce doesn't want to be the reason for a breakup either. However, Rachel can't take it any longer and confronts Luce in her flower shop. She confesses her feelings to her, but also makes it clear to her that a relationship between them is not possible, disappears upset and comes back a few seconds later to kiss the completely confused Luce. However, they are suddenly interrupted when they hear Heck enter the shop. Luce sells flowers for Rachel to the downcast Heck, and he admits that his and Rachel's relationship is becoming increasingly distant. He blames himself for not being there for Rachel enough. Rachel then escapes, and she and Luce later unhappily decide that they cannot betray Heck. Rachel feels so guilty that she confesses everything to even the drunken heck, but without mentioning the names of her loved ones. Heck pretends to sleep and later tells Cooper. He immediately sees through that it is Luce Rachel has fallen in love with and angrily confronts her. Luce is all too much and she makes plans for a longer trip out of the country.

When Rachel and Heck celebrate their parents' birthday, her sister tells Lexi about Luce's planned trip, and after Heck sees Rachel's reaction, he realizes that it is Luce Rachel has fallen in love with. He doesn't want to be her second choice and leaves. Rachel tells her parents about Luce and herself and together they try to find Luce, who is on her way to the airport. But they get stuck in a traffic jam and Luce gets rid of Rachel on her cell phone. It all seems lost, but Rachel notices that Luce is stuck in the same traffic jam and calls Luce's name from the roof of her parents' car. Finally the two make up and kiss in the middle of a crowded London street.

In scenes during the credits we get to see the protagonists again some time later: Heck is just getting on a plane to realize his dream of a travel guide, whereby a flirtation develops with a woman sitting next to him. Cooper is seen with a baby, Lexi and her boyfriend are playing in the playground together, and Rachel and Luce are still a happy couple.

Reviews

The lexicon of international films wrote that the film was a romantic comedy that lacked “narrative breath and directorial skills”. It is only "a collection of comedic motifs and situations".
