Elena Gorohova ( Russian Елена Горохова / Jelena Gorochowa; born November 6, 1972 in Bălți ) is a Moldovan biathlete and cross-country skier . She took part in four Winter Olympics.

Elena Gorohova works as a teacher and lives in Chișinău . She is trained by Nadejda Bria and starts for the army sports club. Gorohova had her first international assignment in 1990 for the Soviet Union in a sprint race in Ruhpolding . In this World Cup race she reached ninth place. The next missions did not follow until 1993, but she missed a start at the 1992 Olympic Games in Albertville against the strong opponents of the CIS team. Gorohova now competed for Moldova. In 1994 she took part in the Olympic Games for the first time. In Lillehammer she was 68th in the individual and 69th in the sprint. The first world championship she ran in 1996 in Ruhpolding. There she was 72nd in the sprint. The next major event was the 1998 Olympic Games in Nagano . In both the individual and the pursuit, she came in 62nd place. Further participation in world championships followed in 2000 at Holmenkollen in Oslo , 2001 in Pokljuka , 2005 in Hochfilzen , 2007 in Antholz and 2009 in Pyeongchang , where the results deteriorated slightly but steadily. In 2006 , she also competed in Turin for the third time at the Olympic Games and there 68th in the sprint.

Since 2001 Gorohova has also competed in cross-country skiing races. In January of that year she took part in a cross-country skiing world cup race for the first time and so far for the only time . In Salzburg she was 27th in the sprint. In Salt Lake City , she took part in the 2002 Olympic Games . In the sprint she was 55th, over 15 kilometers she did not finish. Three years later she started at the Nordic World Ski Championships 2005 in Oberstdorf , where she was 64th in the sprint. Gorohova also sprinted at the Nordic cross-country skiing competitions in Pragelato Plan in 2006 and finished 62.
