The Engelmann Township is one of 22 townships in St. Clair County in the west of the US -amerikanischen state of Illinois . In 2010 the Engelmann Township had 726 inhabitants.
The township is located in the eastern part of the Greater St. Louis metropolitan region, called Metro-East , around the city of St. Louis in neighboring Missouri .

Engelmann Township is located on the eastern edge of the suburban area of St. Louis. The township is located on the north bank of the Kaskaskia River . The Mississippi , which forms the border with the state of Missouri, is around 40 km to the west.

The Engelmann Township is located in the far east of St. Clair County and borders the Clinton to the east and Washington County to the southeast .
