The Stites Township is one of 22 townships in St. Clair County in the west of the US -amerikanischen state of Illinois . In 2010 the Stites Township had 749 residents.
The township is located in the eastern part of the Greater St. Louis metropolitan region, called Metro-East , around the city of St. Louis in neighboring Missouri .

The Stites Township is located in the eastern suburbs of St. Louis on the east bank of the Mississippi River , which forms the border with Missouri.
The Stites Township lies at 38 ° 39'01 "north latitude and 90 ° 09'45" west longitude and extends over 3.7 km².
The Stites Township is located in the extreme northwest of St. Clair County and borders Madison County to the north . On the opposite bank of the Mississippi is the city of St. Louis in Missouri. Within St. Clair County, Stites Township is bordered by Canteen Township to the east and East St. Louis Township to the south .

The St. Louis Downtown Airport is situated 12 km south, the larger Lambert-Saint Louis International Airport is located about 25 km northwest of Stites Township.
