The Lenzburg Township is one of 22 townships in St. Clair County in the southwest of the US -amerikanischen state of Illinois . In 2010 the Lenzburg Township had 1047 inhabitants.

The township is located in the eastern part of the Greater St. Louis metropolitan region, called Metro-East , around the city of St. Louis in neighboring Missouri .

Lenzburg Township is located in southeast Illinois on the left bank of the Kaskaskia River . The Mississippi , which forms the border with the state of Missouri, is around 40 km west of the township.

The Lenzburg Township lies at 38 ° 15'53 "north latitude and 89 ° 51'45" west longitude and extends over 50.53 km², which is spread over 46.99 km² of land and 3.54 km² of water.

The Lenzburg Township is located in the south of St. Clair County and borders on the Randolph to the south and Monroe County to the west . Within St. Clair County, Lenzburg Township is bordered by New Athens Township in the north, Fayetteville Township in the northeast and Marissa Township in the east .

Illinois State Route 13 runs through the northeast of the township . The County Road 27 branches off from this and into north-south direction through the center of the township. All other roads are subordinate and mostly unpaved roads.

A Canadian National Railway runs parallel to Highway 13 .

The Sparta Community Airport is a small airfield around 25 km southwest of the Lenzburg Township. The nearest major airport is Lambert-Saint Louis International Airport (around 75 km northwest).
