The Canteen Township is one of 22 townships in St. Clair County in the west of the US -amerikanischen state of Illinois . In 2010 the Canteen Township had 10,263 inhabitants.

The township is located in the eastern part of the Greater St. Louis metropolitan region, called Metro-East , around the city of St. Louis in neighboring Missouri .

The Canteen Township is located in the eastern suburbs of St. Louis. The Mississippi , which forms the border with the state of Missouri, is about 2 km west of the township.
