content

In the documentary, which appears scientifically, Erich von Däniken examines the question of whether extraterrestrial life landed on earth in the past and left its mark. In addition, he takes the viewer on a journey to various ancient buildings and stone drawings around the world. Among other things, pyramids in Egypt, stone paintings in the Sahara, stone sculptures such as the moais on Easter Island , Aztec and Mayan buildings in Central and South America as well as the lines in the plain of Nazca are shown .

The tenor of his explanations is that many buildings from bygone times could not have been built without the help of "strangers", since even today they could only be completed with the most modern technology with enormous effort. Images of these strangers were captured by ancient civilizations in many drawings, statues or frescoes and have been preserved to this day. Däniken draws the conclusion that many of the gods of ancient cultures were in truth these same strangers who once came from the depths of space.

Reviews

“The cinematic illustration was carried out without its own interpretation, leaving the viewer to comment on it. A travel report that will stimulate discussion on the subject, a joy especially for science fiction fans. "

- Protestant film observer, review No. 184/1970

"Questionable not only through pseudo-scientific argumentation, but also through the attempt to manipulate the viewer."
