Film adaptation of Werner Keller 's bestseller non-fiction book , which tries to show in a "less spectacular way than the original" that archaeological finds and findings do not contradict biblical statements.

Production notes

The shooting of ... and the Bible is right took Reinl to numerous biblical sites in the Middle East and various countries in Western Europe. He shot between September 20, 1976 and February 26, 1977 in Israel, Jordan, Egypt, Syria, Iraq, Italy, France, Great Britain, the Netherlands and the Federal Republic of Germany. Completion took place on April 30, 1977, after the FSK examination on June 16, 1977 the film was approved for children from 6 years. The world premiere took place on October 14, 1977 in Nuremberg.

Author Manfred Barthel was also in charge of manufacturing and production and also made the commentary. Manfred Seipold and Holger Petzold acted as speakers .

In 1977 the film received the rating “particularly valuable”.

As with the previous bestselling non-fiction book adaptations, Memories of the Future and Message of the Gods , Reinl also worked here with the author Barthel and the cameraman Ernst Wild .

“The focus is clearly on the visually strong parts of the Holy Scriptures, the theological interpretation of the film is reserved, but there is an unmistakable tendency towards psychologizing. Staged a bit lengthy with beautiful pictures in the style of a cultural film. "
